Hundred House Hotel

Rooms at Hundred House Hotel are named after herbs and feature antique furnishings, four-poster beds, and velvet-covered swings hanging from oak beams. The building dates back to a 14th-century coaching inn and includes a restored 17th-century Oak Tithe Barn that once served as a courthouse. Guests can book Superior Feature Rooms with swings or Classic Double Rooms with original leaded windows.

The on-site restaurant holds two AA Rosettes and serves dishes made from herbs and vegetables grown in the hotel's own garden. Menus include tapas-style small plates, game night specials, and Sunday roasts with rare cooked beef. The kitchen team uses local suppliers for ingredients such as smoked haddock, venison, and duck breast.

The hotel maintains two separate gardens: an ornamental flower garden and a productive herb, fruit, and vegetable garden with over 700 varieties of roses. A resident donkey named Pegasus lives on the grounds and is a regular feature for guests walking through the gardens. The herb garden includes plants used directly by the kitchen team for seasonal dishes.

The 17th-century Oak Tithe Barn serves as the main wedding and event space, with capacity for ceremonies, wedding breakfasts, and evening receptions. A dedicated wedding team-including Gemma, Jaydene, and Kerry-handles everything from room setup to music and cake. The barn transitions from ceremony to dining to evening party within the same building, and a new permanent building is planned to replace the current marquee.

Superior Family Rooms sleep up to five guests and include swings that children can use. Pets are allowed in certain rooms, with access to the outdoor gardens and grounds. The hotel offers kids' meals on the restaurant menu and family-friendly Sunday lunches that have received positive reviews from parents.
